INITIAL INSPIRATION
Agate; from this natural, organic matter I have formed a concept based upon the striking lines, layers and trapped natural colours, also crystals which are hidden within. The translucent surface of the agate reveals the interior whilst on the other hand being protected by a rustic, natural hard shell. Therefore, the diffusion of the natural colours and blured lines provide a base for my creative design development for both the fabrication and texture. The destination of my concept has been considered in terms of design exploration which have emanated from the formation of layers which overlap one another, and contain trapped fragments of colours and texture; leading to ideas for fabrication such as merging hues applied to fabrics such as Silk taffeta and organza.
The striking colours and lines have lead to my interest into the research about print and the illusions it can create when integrated into/on the fabric. The print development will provide surface

• THE FUSION OF BRIGHT COLOURS SOURCED FROM THE AGATE STONE ARE EXPLORED AND USED AS INSPIRATION FOR A UNIQUE COLOUR PALETTE AND PRINT DEVELOPMENT
• THE SOFT FLUID LINES OF COLOUR ABD MINERALS WITHIN THE STONE WHICH MERGE INTO ONE ANOTHER HAVE INSPIRED DIRECITON IN DEVELOPMENT, SHAPE AND FABRICATION
• TEXTURED, PLASTIC AND TRANSPARENT FABRICS WHICH REFLECT THE SURFACE OF THE STONE AND HANDLE AS TRANSLATED INTO CERTAIN GARMENTS
• A FUN, COLOURFUL OUTCOME REFLECTING MOVEMENT AND VIBRANCY WHILST EXPLORING UNIQUE PRINTS AND FABRICS THAT TARGET A YOUTHFUL CONSUMER
